Pastel Software Zimbabwe, the official Sage Pastel distributor in Zimbabwe, plans to launch new Pastel Evolution point of sale and branch synchronisation modules in June. This will be the first time these modules have been available in Zimbabwe.

Experts from Sage Pastel International’s headquarters in South Africa will present, explain and demonstrate the new modules on June 7 and 8.

Pastel Software Zimbabwe represents Sage Pastel International in Zimbabwe. It distributes Pastel software, the most popular accounting software among small to medium-sized businesses in both Zimbabwe and South Africa, directly and through its network of dealers.

It is the only Platinum Certified Sage Pastel Partner in the country. Sage Pastel grades its business partners as Silver, Gold and Platinum, with Platinum being the highest grade.

The new Evolution point of sale module integrates with the programme’s inventory and receivables, addressing practical issues within the retail point of sale environment.

Its functionality includes security parameters, tender types (cash, voucher, credit card or cheque), flexible pricing and discounting. It supports peripheral devices such as pole display units, cash drawers, slip printers and a bar code scanner.

The Pastel Evolution Point of Sale module is user friendly. It offers flexibility by allowing for per till configuration. It has powerful reporting features. Although designed as an on-line system, there is an off-line option as well.

The other new module, the branch synchronisation module, is ideal for companies that are unable to obtain a wide area network data connection with and between their branches. It enables them to synchronise branch data off-line.

Evolution is one of the most popular and powerful Pastel products on the market. A number of optional add-on modules make it flexible and readily adaptable for the operational needs of a wide variety of companies and organisations.

One of the modules that Pastel Software Zimbabwe launched last year, for instance, was a municipal billing module designed specifically to meet the billing needs of local authorities.

As the official distributor of Sage Pastel products in the country, Pastel Software Zimbabwe not only provides training and technical support for users of Sage Pastel software but for the distributors it appoints.

All 23 of the dealers or business partners the company has appointed have had to undergo training at the Pastel Software Zimbabwe training centre, under the company’s senior trainer, Peter Brown, who has had years of experience in training and himself regularly undergoes further training and certification testing with Sage Pastel International.
